Habermann Hawaii Wedding

It has been wayyyyyyy to long since my last post, so I’ll start off by getting back into blogging with my photography shoot in Hawaii from  a couple weeks ago.  Josh and Joanna were absolutely amazing and great hosts.  We had such a great day with some awesome weather.  How can you go wrong it was Hawaii, unlike the foggy windy conditions I have to contend with my San Francisco Weddings.   I’m looking forward to finalizing the edits (the one thing I hate the most is post production) but fun to revisit the day and self critique.

Stay tuned for more posts….soon… I promise.

WeddingPhotography Tip 001 :: Viewing the complete wedding

Many times when couples meet with me, they are very excited to see my albums and portfolios but forget to ask to see any examples of a complete wedding shoot. Most Wedding photographers love to show their best work, however they don’t have available examples of proofing books from a wedding. Why is this important? Seeing the wedding photographers proofs will provide a realistic view of the photographer’s complete work. Most photographers shoot digital now so it is quite easy to show 2 or 3 complete weddings either on a computer monitor or hard copy. This is as strong as providing testimonials because it will expose any weaknesses or concerns you have with their approach or overall quality.

I still remember the grueling process my wife and I had when choosing our photographer. It amazed me how many of these “Wedding Photographers” didn’t have their proofs available when we asked. There was no way we were going to invest thousands of dollars for someone to capture our story without seeing examples of complete weddings.

Remember, every image doesn’t have to be perfect but the overall work must show the value of what your willing to spend.

Next Tip: choosing the personality who will be shooting your wedding photographer

New Years Resolution- Start a Blog!

It has been on my list of things to do for a number of months and I have made it my New Years Resolution! Start and maintain a blog.

My goal is to update my blog with information important to that couple who are looking for their wedding photographer. Specifically Stories where couples will get to know who I am as a photographer, get a sense of my personality. This is incredibly important because it is critical for a couple to have personality match with their photographer. Secondly I will offer tips for couples in what to look for when hiring a photographer, and tips on how to work with the photographer to get those perfect images.
